Welcome to the BBA

The BBA is a non-profit making organisation whose membership is made up of those people interested in taking forward the Aims of the Association which are burn prevention, and the propagation of knowledge on the best treatment and rehabilitation following a burn injury.

The Association organises educational events and an annual scientific meeting to provide a forum for both members and non-members.

A website advertising facility for meetings, courses and study days is open to members only.  Agreed allied professional organisations are also eligible to advertise on the website. BBA Section of the Society of Academic & Research Surgery Annual Meeting 2018

To be held on Thursday 11 January 2018 at the University of Nottingham.

Abstracts can be submitted online now at http://www.surginet.org.uk/abstracts  Clos.ing date for submission is 5.00pm, 9th September 2017

All abstracts must be submitted online.  The top abstracts selected will be invited to compete for the highly prestigious Patey Prize, with the remainder of those selected invited to present as an Oral Presentation.

JAB Maui Burn and Wound Care Symposium

The 40th Annual John A. Boswick, M.D. Burn and Wound Care Symposium will be held on January 28 - February 1, 2018 at the Wailea Beach Marriott in Maui, HI. 

This international conference covers the latest advancements in burn care, wound healing, and infection control.  Presentations will be made through abstract submissions by physicians, nurses, researchers, related medical specialists, and others involved in the care of soft tissue injuries and their complications.

The symposium is currently accepting abstracts for presentations and posters.  Submission details can be reviewed at https://www.jabmauisymposium.com/#abstracts  The .deadline for abstract submissions is November 15, 2017.

The Boswick Burn and Wound Care Symposium is designed for physicians, nurses researchers, investigators, therapists, dietitians, and anyone interested in development of techniques, treatments, drugs, and devices in the study and management of wound healing, wound management, burn care, and infection control.

Royal College of Emergency Medicine Spring CPD Conference 2018

To be held at City Hall, Cardiff on 17 - 19 April 2018.

BBA Pre-Hospital Burn Care Education Seminar

22nd February 2018

To be held on 22nd February 2018 at 12 noon - 5pm and on 23rd February 2018 at 8.30am - 1pm at Pilgrims Training Academy Unit, 8 Orchard Business Centre, Bonehurst Road, Redhill, Surrey RH1 5EL.

This course is designed for people with initial responsiblity for taking control and managing patients with a range of burn injuries at scene or first professionally seen at the ED.

This course is aimed at:  Police, First Responders, Nurses, Doctors, Paramedics, Technicians, Fire Fighters

Cost:  Free to BBA Members;  £50 for non-BBA Members
